New Music (live performance mp3's)

  1. You Are My All In All: We love changing Praise & Worship songs into jazz standards. This is our swing version of the classic Praise & Worship tune.

  2. Amazing Love: We also like to mess around with hymns. This is our variation on the two hymns "Amazing Grace" and "And Can It Be".

  3. Hallowed: City on a Hill is one of our favorite Praise CD's so we do a similiar version of "The Lord's Prayer" an amazing hymn.

  4. God Will Make A Way: We add R&B and funk music to our songbook as much as possible. This is one of the first songs in that style to be added to our repertoire. It's an original that has become a Brooks Lytle favorite at live performances.

Musicians: Tony Deangelis(drums), Carl Brooks-Lytle (guitar),

Review: This CD entitled “His Ways,” by The Brooks Lytle Jazz Ensemble is a contemporary jazz album with jazz vocals and Christian lyrics. The CD is a combination of original songs and arrangements of Jazz standards. The songs on the CD were well arranged and written, Aisha Brooks-Lytle who sings vocals on this project does a wonderful job. Her voice reminds me of Dianne Reeves and Cassandra Wilson, very smooth and soulful put to jazz music. Brooks Lytle is a four piece Jazz band specializing in sacred and secular music out of Philadelphia. Tony Deangelis does a great job on the drums, as does Micah Jones on the bass, and of course Carl Brooks-Lytle takes it to another level on guitar.

I would definitely recommend adding this CD to you jazz collection, it is a great addition for a Sunday morning jazz brunch.

Tracks: He's My Peace, So Much, As The Deer, Your Grace, Weight of the World, Swinging Shepherd Blues, Because I Told You So, His Ways, Someone to Light Up My Life.
